The Institute was named after Saint Louis Marie De Monfort of France. He was a  great educator of children and youth, as well as, a great servant of God. Louis was not only the founder of the Monfort Brothers of Saint Gabriel but has also been the Patron of the Monfort Technical Institute world-wide since its inception.  
The purpose of the Institute is to provide employment opportunities, by way of skill trainings, encouragements guidance and values to youth. Specifically, its aim is to empower, teach and enhance the quality of life of young both intellectual and physical to assist them becoming more effective citizens of the Kingdom of Tonga. The best investment a country can make is the Human Power Developments, according to the Monfort Brothers.  Make other’s happy and you will be happier is one of the common sayings among Monfort Technical Institutes world-wide.  

 

The Institute is divided into three main Divisions:-  Carpentry and Building Construction,  Motor Vehicles Mechanic Trade,   Basic Military Training (School Cadet)

 

How do student learn in the Division of Carpentry and Building Construction? In this creativity and skillful trade, the students are taught according to their level of understanding in basic training:

-  Carpentry and cabinet making, Building construction technology, Block laying and plastering, Plumbing, Technical drawing and calculation and many more. (What you spend years building can be destroyed over night…Don’t quit but keep building for a life).  

 

How do student learn in the Division of Motor vehicle mechanics Trade? At this rather complicated and high tech world, the students are being equipped with skills to enable them to do:-  Servicing both petrol and diesel engine, Diagnosing and repair engine and mechanical fault, Repairing rust panel for painting by welding and forming; apply body filter and shaping by cutting with sandpaper; and prepare the vehicle body panel for spray painting and polishing  

 

How do student learn in the Division of Basic military training (school cadet)? With this motivated program, the Monfortians involve in basic training on for:-   Be prepared, Life survival, Life saving at sea, Basic drill training (When the going gets tough the tough gets going on along…Honesty and hard work bring success)

 

What else do Monfort Technical Institute offer? The Institute can make furniture for any household, schools, and church furniture for a very low prize that can affordable against your order and demand.  It can also do the following vehicle maintenance:-   Servicing your motor vehicle, Repair engine and mechanical problems, Repair rust and damages to body by welding, prepare for spray painting and polishing to suits your fantasy.
